With a durable blade structure and optimal cushioning, it delivers a safe, consistent surface that holds up under pressure.

Artificial Turf Installation

A turf lawn is only as good as what is underneath it. This is the eight-stage system behind every installation.

  1. Excavating soil and organic material before turf installation
    01

    Excavation of Organic Material

We begin by removing 4 to 6 inches of soil and organic matter to create a clean, stable base for your turf system. This ensures proper drainage, weed prevention, and long-term durability.

  2. Compacting the subgrade with a plate compactor
    02

    Subgrade Compaction

Once excavated, we compact the bare earth using a plate compactor. This stabilizes the area and prevents future settling, which is critical for maintaining a level surface over time.

  3. Installing angular gravel base for turf drainage
    03

    Angular Gravel Base Installation

We install 4 inches of open-graded angular gravel over a geotextile barrier. This base supports drainage and provides a rock-solid foundation that won’t shift or sag.

  4. Rolled turf softening in the sun before installation
    04

    Let Turf Bake in Sun

We allow the rolled turf to sit out and absorb heat from the sun. This softens the backing and eliminates wrinkles, making the turf easier to work with during installation.

  5. Compacting crushed refines into a smooth setting surface
    05

    Crushed Refines Installation

A thin layer of finely crushed material, often called refines, is compacted over the gravel to create a smooth, uniform surface for the turf to rest on.

  6. Rolling out and cutting in artificial turf
    06

Roll Out and Cut In Turf

Turf is rolled out over the base, cut to fit the layout, and carefully adjusted to ensure proper grain direction and seamless transitions.

  7. Securing turf edges with nails along perimeter edging
    07

    Nail Down the Edges

Using a nail gun and air compressor, we secure the turf to the perimeter edging. This prevents movement and keeps your lawn tight and clean over time.

  8. Spreading antimicrobial infill across installed turf
    08

    Spread Antimicrobial Infill

We spread approximately 2 lbs per square foot of antimicrobial emerald green infill. This supports the blades, adds weight, and prevents odors, which is especially important for pet owners.

Why Choose Artificial Turf?

Beautiful Year-Round with Zero Watering

Artificial turf stays lush and green through every season, even in Colorado’s arid climate. You’ll cut your water bill and eliminate the need for sprinklers altogether.

Low Maintenance and Always Clean

No mowing, edging, or mud. Turf doesn’t grow or get patchy, and it drains quickly after snow or rain, leaving your yard clean and dry, even in high-traffic areas.

Built for Kids, Pets, and Colorado Weather

Our turf is soft, non-toxic, and drains fast. It’s perfect for families with pets or children and holds up to Colorado’s extreme sun, snow, and elevation.

Lasting Curb Appeal

Professionally installed turf enhances your home’s appearance, can add value, and holds up for over a decade with minimal upkeep.

Artificial Turf Questions

Which turf product is right for my yard?

It depends on how the space is used. Summit Pro 200 is the flagship lawn surface, Sierra Select 169 covers budget-conscious projects, Paw Pro K9 is built for dogs, Pro Tour is for putting greens, Pro Play for sports areas, and Vista Flex for slopes and events. We match the product to the space during the consultation.

How does artificial turf handle snow and rain?

The system is built to drain: excavated base, four inches of open-graded angular gravel over geotextile fabric, and a permeable backing. Rain and snowmelt pass through instead of pooling, and the surface dries quickly.

Is artificial turf safe for pets?

Yes. Our pet installations use Paw Pro K9 turf with rapid drainage and antimicrobial infill that controls odor. The blades stand up to traffic and digging, and cleanup is simple.

Why does the base preparation matter so much?

Nearly every turf failure traces back to the base. Skipping excavation, compaction, or the gravel layer leads to settling, wrinkles, and drainage problems. Our eight-stage installation exists to prevent exactly that.
